What types of data do we collect?

When you contact us, you accept that our company collects some of your personal data. This page is intended to tell you what data we collect, why and how we use it.

We process two types of data:

  • data provided by the user,
  • data we collect automatically.

Data provided by the user

If you are a company (potential customer/supplier)

If you are a company, when you contact us we ask you to provide us with some data that we need to provide you, technical datasheets, company newsletter information, quotations, availability, etc…

These are, for example, the data we ask you:

  • name and surname,
  • address,
  • e-mail,
  • product of interest.

Data We Collect Automatically

We collect the following data through the services you use:

  • technical data: for example IP address, browser type, information about your computer, data relating to the current (approximate) location of the tool you are using;
  • data collected using cookies or similar technologies: for more information, please visit the “Cookies” section.

1. How do we use the collected data?

We use the data collected to offer you our service every day, to inform you about our commercial activities or to offer you a more personalized service in line with your interests.

1.1. To inform you about our business activities

We use the data collected, if you have expressly given us your consent, to inform you about promotional activities that may be of interest to you.

In particular we use them for:

  • communicate promotional, commercial and advertising activities on events, initiatives or partnerships of LEAR RACING CABLE, by e-mail, SMS or push notifications; only if you are a professional, for telephone calls through an operator, customer care service consisting in the offer of dedicated services in the sales and after-sales offices;
  • carry out analysis and reporting activities connected to promotional communication systems, such as for example the detection of the number of e-mails opened, clicks made on the links present within the communication, the type of device used to read the communication and the related operating system or the list of unsubscribed from the newsletter.

2. Is the provision of data mandatory?

The provision of personal data is optional for promotional and profiling purposes and any refusal to give consent does not have negative consequences on the provision of the service offered on the website www.learacingcable.com.

3. Who are the subjects of the treatment?

3.1. Data controller

The data controller is LEAR RACING CABLE srl in the person of its pro-tempore legal representative, with registered office located in Vignola MO (IT), Via Paraviana 261, VAT number 03216510366.

3.2. Subjects to whom personal data may be disclosed

The  data collected as part of the provision of the service may be communicated to:

  • companies that perform functions strictly connected and instrumental to the operation – even technical – of the LEAR RACING CABLE services, such as, for example, suppliers that provide services aimed at reviewing and verifying advertisements, direct marketing and customer care service providers, companies that provide archiving, administrative, payment and billing services, associated companies that provide technical components for the provision of some features of the service;
  • administrative and judicial bodies and authorities by virtue of legal obligations.

Your personal data may be transferred outside the European Union to be processed by some of our service providers. In this case, we ensure that this transfer takes place in compliance with current legislation and that an adequate level of protection of personal data is guaranteed based on an adequacy decision, on standard clauses defined by the European Commission or on Binding Corporate Rules.

4. How can you get information about the data, modify it, delete it or have a copy of it?

4.1. Access to personal data from your reserved area and withdrawal of consent (opt-out)

You can, at any time, view your data and any information provided for billing in your reserved area. Log into your account and go to “settings” – Review consent.

To opt out of push notifications, read the following instructions:

– Android devices: click here and follow the instructions in the paragraph “Activating or deactivating notifications from some apps”.

– iOS devices: click here and follow the instructions in the “Change notification settings” paragraph.

To revoke consent relating to tracking using profiling cookies and/or similar technologies, follow the instructions in the “Cookies” section.

4.2.Deletion of personal data

The cancellation will be carried out within the foreseen technical times and in accordance with the retention period specified in point 5 below.

4.3. Exercise of your rights

Any natural person using our service can:

obtain from the owner, at any time, information about the existence of their personal data, the origin of the same, the purposes and methods of treatment and, if present, to obtain access to personal data and information referred to in article 15 of the GDPR
request the updating, rectification, integration, cancellation, limitation of data processing in the event that one of the conditions set out in article 18 of the GDPR occurs, the transformation into anonymous form or blocking of personal data, processed in violation by law, including those whose retention is not necessary in relation to the purposes for which the data were collected and/or subsequently processed
object, in whole or in part, for legitimate reasons and in accordance with the provisions of the law, to the processing of data, even if pertinent to the purpose of collecting and processing personal data for purposes of commercial information or the sending of advertising or sales material direct or for carrying out market research or commercial communication. Each user also has the right to withdraw the consent at any time without prejudice to the lawfulness of the treatment based on the consent given before the revocation
receive their personal data, processed on the basis of a contract or on the consent of the interested party, provided knowingly and actively or through the use of the service, in a structured format, commonly used and readable by an automatic device, and to transmit them to another data controller without impediments
lodge a complaint with the Guarantor Authority for the protection of personal data in Italy

5. How and for how long will your data be kept?

The retention of personal data will take place in paper and/or electronic/IT form and for the time strictly necessary to fulfill the purposes referred to in point 1, in compliance with your privacy and current regulations.

For direct marketing and profiling purposes, we process your data, according to the consent you have provided, for a maximum period equal to that established by the applicable legislation (respectively equal to 24 and 12 months).

For the purposes of developing and improving the service and related functions, the personal data of the active user may be analyzed and stored in an aggregated and pseudonymized form for up to 36 months. These data are confidential and for internal use only.

For the same purposes and greater security of the service through moderation and prevention of conduct contrary to the conditions and editorial rules of LEAR RACING CABLE – also in collaboration with the Authorities – the announcements, the contents generated by the user on the platform and those relating to your identification (with the exception of requests for assistance to Customer Service, the conservation of which follows the user’s life cycle) will in any case be kept by the owner, in a protected form and with limited access, for a period equal to 36 months. These confidential contents will be for internal use only and may be provided by the owner only to the Judicial Authority or to the user’s defender for justice purposes.

Invoices, accounting documents and transaction data are kept for 11 years in accordance with the law (including tax obligations).

In the case of exercise of the right to be forgotten through a request for express cancellation of personal data processed by the owner, we remind you that such data will be kept, in a protected form and with limited access, solely for the purpose of ascertaining and suppressing crimes, for a period no more than 12 months from the date of the request (except as indicated above regarding the data used for the purposes of moderation and prevention) and will subsequently be deleted in a secure manner or anonymized in an irreversible manner.

Finally, we remind you that for the same purposes, the data relating to the electronic traffic of active users, excluding in any case the contents of the communications, will be kept for a period not exceeding 6 years from the date of communication.

6. How do we ensure the protection of your data?

The data is collected by the subjects indicated in point 3, according to the indications of the reference legislation, with particular regard to the security measures envisaged by the GDPR (art. 32) for their treatment using IT, manual and automated tools and with strictly related logics for the purposes indicated in point 1 and in any case in such a way as to guarantee the security and confidentiality of the data.

In compliance with the applicable legislation, an anti-spam verification system is active on communications between users. The data entered therein may be verified for the sole purpose of identifying illegal activities or contents that do not comply with the General Conditions of the Service, but will not be processed or communicated for commercial or promotional purposes.

7. Learn more

7.1. Surveys

We may ask you, while browsing, for your willingness to participate in targeted surveys in order to know your opinion and the degree of satisfaction with regard to the services provided. These surveys can be carried out directly on LEAR RACING CABLE.

Within the surveys, it may be optionally requested to provide an e-mail address in order to receive news and information on the services of LEAR RACING CABLE.

We remind you that participation in surveys is entirely optional and that you can always object to this treatment.

7.2. Position

When you use LEAR RACING CABLE applications and services or with active location tracking, we may collect and process information about your current (approximate) location. This data is processed anonymously, in a format that does not allow the user to be personally identified and used for the sole purpose of facilitating the use of some location-based service features. You can activate/deactivate location services at any time by accessing your browser and/or device settings as follows:

go to “Preferences” > “Websites” > “Location” and remove LEAR RACING CABLE from the list
– Mobile
go to “Preferences” > “Privacy” > “Localization” and disable the location for Safari

  • Chrome

-Desktops
open Chrome chrome://settings/content/location and remove LEAR RACING CABLE from the list
-Mobile
open Chrome and select “Site settings” > “Location” and remove LEAR RACING CABLE from the list

  • Firefox

-Desktop and mobile
open Firefox and go to about:preferences#privacy, search for “Permission” > “Location” > “Settings” and remove LEAR RACING CABLE from the list

  • Internet Explorer

-Desktops
open Internet Explorer, click on the “gear” icon and select “Internet options” in the privacy panel, under the item Position press the “Delete Sites” button

7.4. Search engine

The information relating to the advertisements posted on LEAR RACING CABLE will be visible in the searches carried out in the internal search engine and could be made available to third-party search engines as indexing of the contents by third-party engines is permitted. In the event that the page relating to the announcement has already been removed from LEAR RACING CABLE, it is possible that the cached copy will remain in the search results for a few days. The search results are not managed by LEAR RACING CABLE, but the user can signal the removal of the page and request the updating of the cached copy directly to the third party search engine.

7.5. Applications and search and selection of personnel

The data controller makes the “Work with us” page available to consult any professional positions open at LEAR RACING CABLE srl and reserves the right to evaluate the applications received for the purpose of selecting and searching for personnel.

The selection and search for personnel can also take place through other channels purely dedicated to this, such as, for example, job search portals and/or social networks dedicated to the professional profiles of users (e.g. Linkedin). The legal basis of this treatment is the legitimate interest of the owner or, where required, the consent of the interested party. In the event of a spontaneous application by the interested party, the processing may be based on the adoption of pre-contractual measures for the purpose of recruitment.

In any case, the curricula received and the data processed by the owner for specific selections may be stored and re-evaluated for subsequent searches for professional positions compatible with the candidate’s profile, provided that they are implemented within a maximum of 2 years. The candidate may object to the processing of his personal data at any time by writing to info@learracingcable.com

7.6. Social networks

The data controller makes its social channels available (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, etc.) to allow users to express their opinions and receive assistance regarding the services offered. Personal data is processed according to the privacy information of the reference social networks as well as according to the privacy information of LEAR RACING CABLE always available on our official pages. The processing of such data takes place solely for the purpose of responding to requests sent by users and for purposes of developing and improving the service pursuant to the previous point 1.1.

8. Can the privacy policy change over time?

This information may be subject to changes. If substantial changes are made to the use of data relating to the user by the Data Controller, the latter will notify the user by publishing them as clearly as possible on their pages or through alternative or similar means.
